A Gathering of Shadows is the second book in the Shades of Magic series. The plot is slow-paced with not much happening until the end. The book follows the adventures of Lyla and Kel, with some new characters introduced. While not much happens, the book is still enjoyable and easy to read. The cover is similar to the first book in the series. I would recommend this book to those who enjoyed the first book and are fans of V.E. Schwab's writing.
