The Camvate Super Clamp is a useful tool for mounting cameras or other equipment when screws cannot be used. This clamp is designed to hold DSLR cameras weighing up to 10lbs or projectors up to 7lbs, though some users reported using it to hold heavier equipment. The clamp body is well-made from aluminum, making it durable and sturdy. However, there are several design flaws and quality issues. The bolt and handle are poorly Constructed, and the handle can easily come loose. The pressure plate is secured with a C-clip, which is not secure once the bolt is replaced. The vinyl coverings do little to prevent marring the surfaces the clamp is attached to. The fixed-jaw end of the clamp has a cut-out area, which is great for clamping onto round bars but causes the clamp to walk on rectangular bars. The threaded rod is also not stainless steel, making it susceptible to galvanic corrosion in marine environments.
