Build your very own galactic civilization by strategically using game cards that represent worlds and technological advancements. In Race for the Galaxy, each player secretly selects one of seven different action cards, revealing them simultaneously. Only the chosen actions occur, making every round an exciting and unpredictable race towards victory.
Each phase has its own unique benefits, with the selecting player(s) receiving an additional bonus. For example, if the Develop action is chosen, players have the opportunity to select a development card from their hand and add it to their tableau, while discarding cards equal to its cost. Players who chose to Develop enjoy the added bonus of discarding one card fewer.
The game features five possible phases: Develop, Explore, Settle, Produce, and Consume. In the Explore phase, players can draw cards and selectively add them to their hand. The Settle phase allows players to strategically place worlds on their tableau.
Some worlds even produce goods that can be discarded for victory points or sold to add cards to your hand during the Consume phase. With over 100 game cards, Race for the Galaxy offers endless possibilities for building unique civilizations and gaining both victory points and powerful card abilities. The player who can best manage their cards, phase and bonus selections, and utilize card powers to build the greatest space empire, will emerge victorious.
