The Vestil FJB-16 Basement Floor Jack is a solid product for supporting floors, stiffening floors or levelling settled floor joists without necessarily requiring poured concrete footings. The jacks need a solid foundation to avoid pressing into soft soil and loosening, but precast concrete piers or crushed stones with a concrete block cap can be used. The jacks are not designed to replace permanent house piers but they are rugged little jacks that work great under porches, for jacking up a part of a barn, and for fixing a foundation. The jack comes with a screw that limits how much it can lift but the ability to turn the screw can be increased by replacing the supplied rod with grade 8 bolts. With a maximum and minimum height capacity of 9738 lbs and a height range of 12-16 inches, the jack is a solid product for better quality and performance than other non-welded ones.
