Answer: Not sure, I suppose you could try it. Gravity flow pushes the flap back down. It's super quiet. -

Answer: There are no markings on the valve as to where it was made. Please contact the seller for that information. -

Can this be mounted horizontally and what is the pressure required to open the valve?
Answer: It appears to be a gravity-close check valve in a large chamber. Looking at it, I would not recommend mounting horizontally. Place it on the vertical run only, just above the sump pump. Mine is located 2 feet above the sump and works awesome. Resolved major issues from past 5 years of hard thumping that I was worried would eventually result in mechanical failure. Best solution ever.
