The Robinair 10102 Side Can Tap is an effective tool that works on every valve, making it much faster than using the main valve. However, the top valve can store a partial can where the side tap seems to leak some over time. It fits a 12oz can and a smaller one depending on the flanges. The shrader valve should be able to be depressed by the thumb or forefinger; if it is recessed, then it is defective. The device eventually leaks out any unused freon, and unused freon can be stored in an empty cylinder. Overall, it is an effective tool for automotive and R22 air conditioning units.
