The M-Audio Acoustic Guitar Effect Pedal is a 16-bit, 48kHz Micro DAC that works seamlessly without the need for drivers on Mac computers, while it increases sound volume only slightly over the standard headphone jack and soundcards from most laptops. It also works with iPhones or iPads using a USB adapter. The 192 version plays lower resolution files without any problems. However, it does not work with a mic on a headset. In terms of reviews, it works great when playing 24-bit files via toslink optical cable with more details and sound stage. It is an excellent DAC for the price, but there are audio spikes that may cause discomfort when you use it. Covering the bright blue diode with black electrical tape often settles this problem.
