The 2P3 AM radio kit is a good kit for those with some experience in building electronics. The kit comes with no soldering tools but contains all necessary parts to build the radio. Despite the lack of step-by-step check-box directions, the kit is easy to assemble in about 90 minutes on a Sunday morning. The kit's performance is excellent and resembles the best pocket radios from early 1970s. It is a very good classic pocket AM radio. However, it's challenging and not a beginner's kit as the instructions assume a fairly experienced builder that is familiar with schematic diagrams and PCB layouts. The instructions also require the builder to measure bias current with a digital multi-meter and to adjust up to 3 resistors, making it unsuitable for someone who has no experience with radios. The kit has a few extra resistors, making it possible to get the correct current readings by swapping some of them out. It is possible to align the local oscillator with off-the-air signals. However, it helps to have experience aligning superhets. The kit received some negative feedback due to the lack of parts or its complexity.
